ABS Monthly Challenge

Enter Art Bead Scene's Monthly Challenge.

To celebrate the grand opening of our new blog we are giving away over $100 in art beads! (pictured above)

This month's theme is Taking Flight. Let your imagination soar to interpret the challenge. You might be inspired by flying creatures, flying objects, the sky and air, or anything that makes you think of flight!

Any handmade object qualifies. This challenge is open to jewelry-makers, fiber artists, collage artist, etc. Beads by themselves DO NOT qualify.

How to enter:

Submit a photo of an object you have created with art beads that fits this month's theme to the Art Bead Scene Flickr group.* If Flickr is beyond your techincal skills, email your photo and details to Heather at humblearts@sbcglobal.net.

To enter, become a member of Flicker, if you are not already. Follow the instructions here: http://flickr.com/

Once you are a member, join the Art Bead Scene Flickr group by following the instructions located here: http://flickr.com/groups/artbeadscene/

Title your photos with AprilABS. In your photo descriptions, list your name, website or blog, and the name of the artist who created your art beads, if possible. Also, please feel free to give a description or story behind your entry.

*Upload your pictures to your Flickr album and then send them to the Art Bead Scene group. Detailed instructions are also available in the Art Bead Scene Flickr discussion list.

A few details:

An art bead is a bead, charm, or component made by an independent artist. For more details about what we consider an art bead to be, read this post: http://artbeadscene.blogspot.com/2007/03/wikibeadia-defining-world-of-art-beads.html

Your entry can feature art beads created by you or someone else. Each entry has to have at least one art bead.

Each unique entry that incorporates an art bead and the monthly theme will qualify for the drawing.

The winner will be randomly drawn from all the qualifying entries on May 1st.

Good luck and happy creating!

p.s. If you have a blog, post your entry and a link to the ABS challenge to spread the beady goodness!

If you would also like some added variation in your ab workouts, you could try taking one hand off the side of your head and placing it on the obliques on the opposite side, and twist your body as you make your way up during your ab workouts.
